We have made tremendous progress and here is where we stand. HWC’s 2-acre building site has been donated. Amid much celebration, our site was dedicated in April 2007 with the groundbreaking ceremony in June 2008. This first phase of construction is complete and we now have a weatherproof building, with the interior framed and ready for completion, and a fully graded site prepped for final landscaping. The windows and sliding glass doors have been installed and were all donated. The metal roofing, siding and gutters are complete along with all exterior painting, and paved access and parking areas are complete. This Phase I of construction has come in at an amazing 15% under budget. $3,323,000 is needed to build this facility. $2,803,000 (84%) has been raised to date with individual donations, grants, construction materials donations and discounted and in-kind services. Completion of the interior of the building will begin once an additional $450,000 has been raised and will take four months to complete. Please help us open the doors in 2010!
