Hawai‘i Wildlife Center Mission
The Hawai‘i Wildlife Center
The Hawai‘i Wildlife Center is dedicated to the conservation and recovery of Hawai‘i’s native wildlife through hands–on treatment, research, training, science education and cultural programs.

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Hawai‘i Wildlife Center will consist of three integrated facilities: a wildlife care and response unit, an education pavilion, and an interpretive courtyard, operating 7 days per week year-round.

We invite you to explore our website to learn more about wildlife rescue and recovery work in Hawai‘i, our design/build team, the many endorsements supporting the Hawai‘i Wildlife Center, and the progress of our capital campaign.

Mahalo for your interest and support.

Aloha!

The causes of biodiversity and the preservation of Hawai‘i’s native wildlife require more than habitat protection. There is an ever-present need for hands-on care and rapid response capability to aid injured and threatened wild animals. This is the vital missing piece of environmental stewardship that the Hawai‘i Wildlife Center (HWC) is determined to provide for native wildlife in Hawai‘i.

We invite people in Hawai‘i and environmental grant-making foundations nationwide to support our capital campaign to fund construction of Hawai‘i’s first wildlife recovery and educational center.

Since HWC was incorporated in 2006, we have made great strides. A 2-acre building site has been secured in Kapa‘au in North Kohala. Our design/build team has prepared blueprints for a state-of-the-art wildlife care facility. In 2007, the State of Hawai‘i made a $500,000 grant-in-aid to support the Center. In-kind donors and several foundations already have contributed generously. Many federal and state agencies, environmental organizations and community-based groups have declared their strong support. Now we ask you to help.

We invite you to thoroughly examine our mission, experience and work plan. Wildlife rescue and recovery work in Hawai‘i requires many helping hands. Please join our growing circle of donors and supporters. We welcome your donations — and your questions. Call or email HWC for more information about our work and the progress of our capital campaign. Click here if you wish to donate now with a secure online payment.

Mahalo.
