Wildlife Rehabilitation Technician (Hawai‘i Island)
Full-time, salary
The Wildlife Rehabilitation Technician (WRT) assists the Wildlife Rehabilitator (WR) and the Director of Wildlife Rehabilitation and Veterinary Medicine (DWRVM) in animal handling and restraint, care, rehabilitation, and cleaning at the rehabilitation facility. The WRT takes direction from the WR and DWRVM and the WRT fills in as rehabilitator when the WR and DWRVM are off. The WRT helps to ensure that the Hawaiʻi Wildlife Center’s high standards for animal welfare are met through appropriate wildlife care practices, husbandry, and daily hospital maintenance tasks. The WRT also contributes to and sometimes leads projects that further HWC’s mission.
Seasonal Wildlife Animal Care Assistant (Hawai‘i Island)
Part-time or full-time depending on applicant’s availability, hourly
The Assistant helps to ensure that the Hawaiʻi Wildlife Center’s high standards for animal welfare are met through appropriate wildlife care practices, husbandry, and daily hospital maintenance tasks. The Assistant is a part time position, working 1-4 days per week for 8 hours daily. The position is seasonal, it starts immediately and runs through December 31st 2023. Depending on caseload there is the possibility of temporary extension into January 2024.
Facility Maintenance Technician (Hawai‘i Island)
Part time, hourly
The Facility Maintenance Technician (FMT) carries out duties necessary for the care and maintenance of the two-acre facilities and protection of our wildlife patients. The FMT responsible for basic care, maintenance and repair of the facility, including interior, exterior structures. This position is to be scheduled for twice weekly (approximately 5-16 hours/week) for general maintenance and can have additional hours as needed for projects up to 19 hours/week.
